- "When I was a girl, I was always that kid in the back of the class staring out the window into the sky, wondering why I couldn't just fix everything. You want to know why I took this job? Because here, now, fixing the world is all we do."
- —Danielle Talbot
Dr. Danielle Talbot, Ph.D is a human politician and diplomat, the second civilian commander of the International Stargate Command, and the former leader of the now-defunct government-in-exile known as the Free People of Earth. Like previous heads of the Stargate Program, she has cultivated a close friendship with the past and present members of SG-1, and holds a great deal of respect in their eyes in return. Since the Fall of Earth, she has focused more and more of her effort and political clout on reformation of the Alliance of Great Races, hoping to one day see an interstellar government take its place to better protect the galaxy.
Turning down offers of powerful political positions and refusing to run for higher office, Talbot preferred to assist the Interstellar Alliance she had created in less obvious means. She proved to be one of its's premiere diplomats by 2063, a renowned negotiator who opened doors for the fledgling government and ensured its success.
