"The aliens control half the galaxy and have an armada large enough to crush any world it turns its sights upon. How do you intend to stand in the way of such power?"
Robert Makepeace

The Der'kal Empire was the government established by the Der'kal during their invasion of the Milky Way, and, at its height, stretched from one end of the galaxy to the other. It grew from a small incursion at P9X-335 to an immense state capable of decimating the Alliance of Great Races and its member races, and its armada was the largest ever assembled in modern history. After four years of dominance over its enemies, however, the Empire was dissolved by Vur'naa, who recognized the futility of attempting to effectively rule over such an enormous area and the immorality of even bothering to try.
