Lt. Matthew Scott is a human soldier generally acting as the military second-in-command for the expedition taking up residence aboard the Ancient starship Destiny. Thrust into responsibility when he and one-hundred others were forced to evacuate there from the doomed Icarus Base, Scott's lack of offworld experience made him severely doubt his own abilities. His perseverance and loyalty have shaped him into a capable officer with the respect of those around him, particularly Ronald Greer and Eli Wallace. While immensely dedicated to his commander and the military, Matthew often helps to bridge the divide between the ship's civilians and soldiers. Only time will tell, however, if he can mature enough to lead so many people to the edge of the universe and beyond.
